- Spare part for window blinds that cannot be bought anywhere

2017-03-09
One of the most annoying thing with plastic frequently used parts is that in time they fall apart. My house has window blinds operated by a wand that is attached to the mechanism with joint surrounded by lousy plastic thingy holding the parts in place.
You cannot buy this part separately anywhere but you have to buy the whole mechanism to replace it. This is both expensive and not so ecological.
I 3D printed a new replacement part from PLA. This 3 piece design holds the mechanism in place and is sturdy enough for everyday use.
The two small pieces go around the joint and third one slides over them to lock them into place.
Design is made with OpenSCAD, sliced with Slic3r and printed with Prusa i3. Files can be found from below.
